Brutus is one of the largest contemporary art spaces in the Netherlands, spanning 6,000 m² in the former port warehouses of the Merwe-Vierhavengebied (M4H) district in west Rotterdam. The institution encompasses its exhibition space (Brutus Space), linked to the Atelier van Lieshout (Brutus Base), a sculpture garden (Brutus Garden), and artist residencies (Brutus Lab). By placing artists at the centre of its mission, Brutus reimagines the boundaries of the traditional museum, offering a playground where creative freedom is absolute. Its raw, unpolished structure provides both inspiration and a medium for developing ambitious, daring projects.
