The Photography Museum, Contemporary Art Center of the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles in Charleroi, was inaugurated in 1987 in the former Carmel of Mont-Sur-Marchienne. Today, it is the largest and one of the most important photography museums in Europe (6,000 m²), with a collection of 100,000 photographs, more than 800 of which are on permanent display, and the preservation of 1.5 million negatives. XR is well integrated into the museum’s strategy and programming, with an inclusive approach.
